From the over-trafficked nerd news site Slashdot I learned about the new Rino GPS.

This gadget would be great for GeoCaching, if that's your hobby.

But you're going to need to wait until June for Garmin to release it and for the FCC to authorize it:

Please note: This device has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission. This device is not, and may not be, offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased, until authorization is obtained.

Speaking of the FCC itself, it seems that my least-favorite government agency is undergoing much-needed overhaul.

Does this mean that my power company can be my phone company and my cable company and my internet service provider too?
Probably.

While listening to Minnesota Public Radio this morning, I heard Jon Gordon talk about SpamRadio.
Now you too can hear spam read to you! And I thought this was only possible in my voice mailbox!

From Blogdex I learned about how a cat tests image recognition algorithms.
This is a consumer product waiting to happen.

So I have this truculent aversion to voice mail...

Despite this, I have a voice mailbox for my home phone, for my work phone, and for my cell phone.
Because I demand my co-workers put things in writing, I use e-mail for work and ignore the work voice mail.

Sometimes for years...

This week I nuked two years of unheard messages and started over.
There was probably a needle in that haystack that I've missed, but it's too late now.
Regardless, I'm listening to my work voice mail again, for better or worse.

So if you've left me a voice mail message on my work number in the last two years...
Sorry, but I missed your message.
I am such a jerk!

As for the MP3 files below, the Perla Batalla file was downloaded most often. Who knew?

It's Friday, and I'm listening to music. Maybe I should share some of it?
Here are some MP3 files, ranging from 2 to 5 megs in size. Enjoy!

You might like it, you might think it's crap. Whatever.

Based on our rank in the Gold League, my NTN trivia team has been moved up into the Premiere League for this season.
Now we're sure to lose big.

Floundering a bit today; hopefully I'll catch myself before the day ends.

I was up late with the EQ guild fighting monsters.
Then I arrived at work this morning and I had to do battle with a different kind of evil: my job.

We launched another web site today.
Check out the cool boating forecast my co-workers designed. Groovy.

Finally, NewsNet5 reports massive shad death:

"I don't know if this is a Cleveland thing, but I've never seen anything like it before."

Spring has sprung.

Updates have been disturbingly irregular on this site.
It's been a busy, busy winter for the author of morman.com.
Hopefully I'll have time to do more updates in the future.
Maybe even a redesign...

So what have I been doing anyway?

Based on Arah's recommendation, I'm reading books about women and the sea:

Elsewhere, I have three computers in pieces on a workbench at home.
It's getting to the point where people are sending me messages at work asking, "Have you fixed your home computer yet?"

Regardless, thanks for stopping by.
