This is morman.com. Spending the hours reminiscing...

It's traditional to look back over the year's successes and failures today, but today I looked back a bit too far.

The great thing about the Internet is that it records all your stupid ideas with unfailing memory.

So I've been dwelling in a dystopian reality recently. This sort of rumination usually leads me down the path to the post-apoc genre...

One of our meteorologist associates sent this link via email under the title, "FYI: Good Link for Armageddon" so you just can't beat that recommendation.

We finally rented Alien: Resurrection as it's been a Jean-Pierre Jeunet-athon recently.
I don't care what anyone says, I liked this film. I just wished it was in French, maybe with subtitles?

In gaming news, I've gone back and played Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel until my eyes were bleeding.

Well, the Holiday Season is almost over. Whew.

I did see that new Peter Jackson movie with Tim and Melanie. I liked the first installment better, as there was less going on.

But my favorite movie by this director is Meet the Feebles, brought to my attention by Jimmy-Mac so many years ago.
It's astoundingly tasteless, so please do NOT watch this movie if you are one of those J.R.R. Tolkien-worshipping über geeks, as it might sully your opinion of the director who is filming holy writ.

Continuing with dog-related news forwarded by Arah, Dog Steps On Gun, Shoots Hunter.

If Network Solutions can reactivate my web-based tool admin rights for this domain, then soon I will be migrated to new DNS servers and new HTTP servers. Have no fear, if it all works out it'll be seamless. Painless. I hope.

I'm biting Arah's line here, but...

"Your money or your Yorkie!"

This week Dara reviews Heartland:

And while I can't say I've ever seen one on a menu here, I confess I have often wondered why there are never muskies, eelpouts, crappies, and such on menus either. I mean, I assure you, if crappies were French, they would be all the rage. Mon dieu! Les crappés!

This Holiday Season has been rocky so far.

It started out with a nice getaway but took a turn for the worse.

First, I picked up a Norwalk Virus variant that lingered on for a couple weeks.
I do not remember the last time I was so ill. And I didn't even get to go on a cruise ship!

Then my Grandmother Morman passed away.
The funeral service was beautiful, and everyone in the family and community was very supportive, but no one likes to lose a grandparent.

And then Arah's car needed a new transmission.
This car is beginning to rival my car for repair costs!

Finally, a mixed blessing: we're launching tons of new web sites at work.
It's good to be busy, but do we need to be this busy?

But hey, it's the Holiday Season.

In nerd news, Roscoe sent me a C|Net article noting two new XML encryption specs:

ibsmorman (3:36:38 PM): Thanks man, take care!
roscoe158 (3:36:40 PM): nod
roscoe158 (3:36:46 PM): you as well.

In game news the folks at Mythic have released Shrouded Isles and it's gorgeous.

Finally, it's the Holiday Season and I have no idea where I'll find the time to do my shopping. Aigh!
